Limited Use/Limited Application (LU/LA) Elevators Course: AIASES102.1
This course provides detailed review of Vertical Platform Lifts (VPLs) and Limited Use/Limited Application (LU/LA) Elevators for commercial use. The course also addresses: code application, specification, suitability of product type, the direct governance guidelines of ADA, ANSI and ASME, and site conditions required for a successful final installation.
1. Recognize the laws, codes, and standards that govern the use of Vertical Platform Lifts (VPLs)
and Limited Use/Limited Application (LU/LA) Elevators
2. Understand the design criteria of VPLs and LU/LA Elevators as governed by applicable codes
3. Identify locations where VPLs and LU/LA Elevators should be used to overcome architectural
4. Define proper site conditions to allow the
installation of VPLs and LU/LA Elevators
